Meet your instructor

Hello!

My name is April and I have always been driven by my love for movement. Initially, this passion found expression through competitive sports during my childhood. I pursued my interest further by delving into the study of Health, Exercise, and Rehabilitative Sciences in college. This academic journey provided me with deeper insights into the intricacies of the human body, encompassing disciplines such as anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and other clinical exercise sciences.

While my movement journey led me through various pursuits, my true passion flourished through the practice of yoga. In 2017, I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at the University of Minnesota's Center for Spirituality and Healing. I swiftly immersed myself in teaching by leading both group classes and private sessions. Committed to ongoing growth, I pursued further education in yoga, culminating in my graduation from Lifetime Fitness’s 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training program in 2022. A committed yoga practice has been powerfully transformative in my life. Training my physical body in ways that foster strength, mobility, flexibility, and balance has had a similar affect on my mental, emotional, and spiritual self. Recognizing the profound effect it’s had on my life, I am dedicated to sharing this invaluable tool with others. I firmly believe that yoga and mobility training cultivates persistence and compassion amidst challenges that one might encounter in all facets of life.

TESTIMONIALS

  • "I have been seeing April for one-on-one mobility and stretching sessions for over 1 year now. As a 50 year old , my mobility was a significant issue when working out three days a week with my trainer; however, the improvements my personal trainer and I have seen have been significant. I have seen increases in reps and weight with chest, shoulder, and back exercises, and, major increases with my leg work outs. The biggest improvement I have seen with our sessions has been my reduced recovery time and decrease in soreness."

  • "When I first stepped into April's yoga class it felt like home. I started my yoga journey 14 years ago and with starting a family and being entrenched in mom life, my yoga practice got put on the back burner. I felt the desire to start back up and went to multiple different classes with different teachers until I found April's class. I was hooked. Not only does she give her heart and soul into the class and sequence but she deeply cares about you and your practice. Her classes are challenging and yet do-able in a way that leaves you feeling empowered. She helped me fall back in love with yoga and gave me a safe space to deepen my practice and my awareness of myself - a gift I am so grateful for."

  • "April's yoga teaching has been one of the most positive and healing forces in my life. I have learned so, so much, and each time I've come away trusting my body's strength a little more and knowing my deep down self a little better. April's teaching style is gentle, patient, encouraging, playfully challenging, and supportive of each person as a unique individual. Her yoga classes have been a weekly anchor and highlight, always bringing inspiration and hope and the warmest, friendliest energy."
